My name is Carolyn Schaumburg and I’m a storyteller. My life's goal is to find and utilize avenues for my creative mind. So I can tell the best stories that I can. Well... my goal is either that or to get everyone in the room to like me.

After graduating from high school in Northern Virginia, I took a gap year(s) and threw myself into the DC sketch, improv, and indie theater scene. I got tired of reading scripts that were like dear God has this writer even met a woman I want to stick hot needles in my eyes. I didn't want to be bitter so I decided to learn how to be better. I applied to the University of Virginia and got in. At UVA I studied media theory, cinematography, filmmaking, theater, playwriting, and screenwriting at the University of Virginia. This is where I had the chance to make The Rat thanks to the special Overcranked program run by Paul Wagner and Doug Grissom.

After graduating from the University of Virginia and winning the Virginia Screenwriting Competition with my first feature Mine, I took my drama degree to LA. Here I have thrown myself into the UCB and film community. My writing style can be described as blue feminist adjacent chaos.
